The Place To Be In 2033!

Save Our Post Office!
In an effort to reduce spending the United States Postal Service is currently conducting a study involving several rural Iowa post offices.  As you may know, the Dedham post office, serving the 51440 zip code area, has been included in this study.

In response, and in order to be pro-active, several concerned citizens have been working together to prepare you should the USPS decide to make changes to our post office and/or the service we currently have.

Please be aware that NO active postal employee can be involved in any way, at any time, due to Postal rules and regulations that prohibit this.  These regulations include our current Postmaster.  Please do not put the job of our current postal employees in jeopardy.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact our local mayor or council members.

It is critical that we are prepared.  It is up to our community and all those served by the 51440 zip code, to do their part to protect our post office.

We need your help to preserve the service we now receive.  If we don't do our part:

·         The USPS will determine which rural route we will be assigned

·         Our address could be Carroll, Coon Rapids, Templeton

·         We will lose our identity as "Dedham"

·         The USPS will determine where cluster boxes will be placed.

·         Our box number could change

·         Our box could be placed in front of our house or on the outskirts of town

·         Packages, certified letters, prescription drugs, etc, will be delivered to the post office the USPS determines

Please do your part.  Send your mail from our local post office.  Purchase your postage stamps from our local post office.

We need your help!  What points are important to you? Please respond by email to
dedhamia@iowatelecom.net or place your concerns in the drop box at city hall.

Check back here often for updates.  Go to
